Fashions Showcased at Meeting

Eighty members of the Linden Garden Club of Pinewild met on Thursday, March 15, at the Pinewild clubhouse at 10 a.m.

The meeting was opened by President Kathryn Talton, who greeted members and guests.

Vice-President Joan Power introduced Sherry Mortenson, of the Faded Rose Ladies Furnishings, located in the village of Pinehurst.

Showcasing fashions from her shop, Mortenson presented 13 versatile outfits that could be worn on a seven-day trip and then demonstrated how they could be packed in one carry-on suitcase for maximum travel convenience.

The club members who served as models were Kathryn Talton, Judith Krall, Sue Wilson and Lonnie Jurenko.

After the fashion show, the business meeting was conducted at which reports were given by Treasurer Nona Burrell, various chairpersons, and Ann Barlow, secretary, read the minutes of the February meeting. Vice-President Joan Power informed the members that their next meeting, the April 19 bus trip to historic Hillsborough, was completely sold out and gave details of the day's activities.

After Kathryn Talton discussed old and new business the meeting was closed. A buffet lunch prepared by Chef Todd, of the Pinewild Country Club, was served.
