Two Raeford residents face felony charges in connection with an attempted fraud at a downtown bank, Southern Pines police said.
Tammy Terril Crouch, 34, and Nathan Andrew Devon Crouch, 26, both of 111 Hillcrest, have been arrested and each is charged with one count of felony attempted obtaining property by false pretenses. Nathan Crouch is also charged with felony identity theft.
Also arrested is Tiffany Yolanda Blue, of Raeford. She is charged with misdemeanor drug possession and released pending a hearing on April 18.
The arrests stem from an investigation into a fraud at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 600 NW Broad Street that was reported to police on Mach 30. The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. Police responded and determined that a check was attempted to be cashed through the use of false and misleading identification.
Tammy Crouch was placed in the Moore County jail under $15,000 secured bond pending a hearing today in district court.
Nathan Crouch was place in jail under $25,000 secured bond pending a hearing today in district court.

Prosecutors in South Bend, Ind., filed charges Monday against four St. Joseph County Democratic officials and deputies as part of a multiple-felony case involving the alleged forging of Democratic presidential primary petitions in the 2008 election, which put then-candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the Indiana ballot. If convicted, I wonder who'll get a longer jail time, the 4 Indiana Democratic officials or the 3 Raeford residents?

Doesn't matter. The punishment has already been handed down. The USA recieved 4-8 years. BTW, where did you get this info anyway, "Fox News"?

C'aire, don't forget rape & sodomy.
Courseaire 1 year, 1 month ago
bhop'r - Are you reading a different story, cuz I didn't see any of those charges, the only common link I found between the two was fraud?
babiehop 1 year, 1 month ago
Didn't mean to throw a curve ball into the mix, was referring to charges that perhaps should be included on the indictment against the current administration.
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
thats odd, I just browsed the abc, cnn and msnbc news sites, I couldn't find anything about these indictments for voter fraud in Ind.

Courseaire and fugitiveguy-- I am shocked that you have not paid more attention to recent comments on this blog: there is NO evidence, anywhere, of fraud in the voting process, and a photo ID will solve nothing, since the problem itself does not even exist. Believing that fraud exists is like believing in Bigfoot. Or believing that Bigfoot could beat a Grizzly bear in a fight. That would be a foolish belief, if it were not for this National Geographic documentary on voter fraud: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QLHli.... Be well!
Courseaire 1 year, 1 month ago
Thatch - That's an unfair fight. Bigfoot has too much of an advantage because of his disposable thumbs.
Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago
Courseaire-- If you look closely at the video, Bigfoot is using his thumbs to grasp his voter ID. Of course, this is illegal and unconstitutional, but try telling that to Bigfoot.

Hehehe - then he hitchhiked the hell out of Dodge before Moo0co Animal Control showed up.
Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago
Courseaire-- Animal Control actually captured him and questioned him about having an illegal voter ID. He answered honestly, according to the police interview video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pr3sBk....

Just read Mr. Nagy's post on the "Political Outrage..." thread. This is great news. Thank you Mr. Nagy. We may have fewer posters here. Or we may have many more! Since folks may feel more inclined to comment if they don't feel like they will be personally attacked and insulted. I look forward to this...so long as you never censor Couresaire's humor. That guy has the gift! And he's nice to everyone. Rare trait here.

I saw that Thatcher and agree. Some good posters who recently left may also return. Some who might leave...may not actually have ever existed as I found out that the use of extra pseudonyms / monikers has been a big problem in the past. They delete them as they are discovered. And hopefully everyone who has been posting remains posting and has some fun with it.
As far as fraud; it is alive and well here. Several months ago Diane was selling some furniture in the Pilot classified. She recieved a check and some instructions. It appeared legit except for the check. She called the Sheriff's office and they knew of the type scam it was. A similar thing happened to her frind while selling something on Craigslist...Mike

Even what look like certified checks can be fraudulent. Beware.
dustyrhoades 1 year, 1 month ago
Note that the current proposals for requiring voters to provide ID would have done absolutely nothing to stop what was alleged to have happened in Indiana.
Courseaire 1 year, 1 month ago
Note: Of course IDs weren't needed when you had 4 fraudulent Democratic Officials allowing Bigfoot, 3 babies, 2 kangaroos & 1 person with ID to vote early and often. That's the same as a 13yo walking into a liquor store asking to buy a 5th of gin and the clerk says "that'll be $15.27."

Unfortunately this will spend far less time (what am I talking about, if it wasn't for Fox News doubtful any of us would have heard of it) in the national spotlight as did Rush's comments of a few weeks ago. I guess the less publicity it is given the easier it is to convince the masses that their really is no election fraud going on. We can be xxxx sure that if they were Republicans it would have been "breaking news".

This story (which is, I hear, currently the hot topic on Fox) does not show any voter fraud occurring in any way that would be addressed by the voter ID law. It's like using a case of someone poisoning apples to call for stricter inspection of pet turtles.
buskwon 1 year, 1 month ago
Why should we wait for voter fraud to happen before we do something about it, let's nip it in the bud before it happens. I am all for voter ID and do not understand why anyone would be against it.
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
"(which is, I hear, currently the hot topic on Fox)"
I have not seen it on Fox News home page today, just finished looking again. Imagine my shock, its not on CNN, ABC or MSNBC
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
"does not show any voter fraud occurring in any way that would be addressed by the voter ID law."
I may be peculiar, but I would prefer there not be any fraud in any stage of the election process.
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
"It's like using a case of someone poisoning apples to call for stricter inspection of pet turtles. "
No, not hardly. Change pet turtles to apple sauce and it make a little sense.
Courseaire 1 year, 1 month ago
That's cruel - why would you want to turn pet turtles into apple sauce.
dustyrhoades 1 year, 1 month ago
I may be peculiar, but I would prefer there not be any fraud in any stage of the election process.
As would we all. However, within a few posts of this incident being mentioned, people were talking about the need for Voter ID laws...which, again, have no connection with this incident.

They make much better soup.
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
"people were talking about the need for Voter ID laws...which, again, have no connection with this incident."
Of course we are talking about 2 different things here however it is just one more event in which Democrats were caught with their hands in the jar in a situation which erodes public confidence in the integrity of our electoral system.

DR (3 hours, 30 min. ago)-- I'm not sure your analysis or analogy are correct. Would not a better analysis conclude that if some folks are inclined to commit fraud in the voting process (at ANY stage), then those same folks would likely try to commit fraud at later stages? Such as actually voting? If not, why not? And would not the requirement of a photo ID at the actual "voting" stage be an obstacle to such intended fraud? Just as it would be at the petition stage referenced in the news report? If not, why not? Thanks.
Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago
And would not a better analogy be if someone is poisoning the voting process, they will continue to try to poison it until caught?
dustyrhoades 1 year, 1 month ago

Actually, no...unless you're assuming that these four Democratic Party officials would then also attempt to vote multiple time under assumed names, which is a very large leap. It's like assuming if someone's charged with passing bad checks, then they'd also be likely to commit murder. It's specious reasoning.
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
Why is it these strories about voting irregularities always seem to involve Democrats?
fugitiveguy 1 year, 1 month ago
"Would not a better analysis conclude that if some folks are inclined to commit fraud in the voting process (at ANY stage), then those same folks would likely try to commit fraud at later stages? Such as actually voting?"
the only logical non partisan answer would be yes, of course they would. Once you commit fraud, doing it again would likely be no big deal. With people that would do this, the end justifies the means. They are scum and if they are guilty I hope they go away for a very long time. Election fraud, you'd think the justice dept might would take an interest in this case but I think they are tied up suing states, hasseling Sheriff Joe and exporting firearms.
Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago
DR-- "It's like assuming if someone's charged with passing bad checks, then they'd also be likely to commit murder." NO. It's like if someone is passing bad checks, they will continue to pass bad checks until caught. If someone is engaged in fraud in the voting process, they will likely continue to do so until caught...including the actual fraudulent vote itself. Murder and turtles have nothing to do with this.

check out how the swine of media matters attempt to make this about Fox News
Thatcher 1 year, 1 month ago
fugitiveguy-- Whether it's mediamatters or folks posting on this site, every time a Democrat is caught engaging in election fraud, we are met with the standard denials and excuses, perhaps best summarized here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSjK2O.... (Note: No turtles or murderers were harmed in the filming of this scene).
