Flyers Split in Volleyball Doubleheader

Sandhills Community College split a volleyball doubleheader Saturday in Virginia against Wytheville Community College.

The Flyers lost the first match in five sets before winning the second, also in five sets. The score of the first match was 16-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21 and 15-10 in favor of WCC. In the second match, the Flyers won 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 18-25 and 15-11.

The Flyers were led in the first match by Chelcey Parker, who had 11 kills, 13 digs and four blocks. Michelle Brown pitched in with 26 assists.

Leaders for the Flyers in the second match win were Parker with 15 kills and 18 digs, Jessica Marion with 15 kills, Brown with 39 assists and Janie Bounds with three blocks.

The Flyers are scheduled to play tonight in a home doubleheader against Rockingham Community College. The first match is at 5 p.m. and the second match is set to start at 7 p.m.
