The Sandhills Community College volleyball team picked up its first conference win of the season Tuesday at Central Carolina Community College.
The Flyers won in three games, 25-19, 25-8 and 25-6, in the contest played at CCCC.
The victory capped a busy time for SCC, as it picked up two wins last Saturday. In its conference opener last week, the Flyers dropped a 25-13. 25-12, 21-25 and 26-24 match to Davidson Community College.
The Saturday wins came over Piedmont Baptist College (25-12, 25-19 and 25-23) and Washington Bible College (25-4, 25-17 and 25-11).
In the victory over Central Carolina, the Falcons were led by Chelcey Parker with 11 kills, four blocks and 15 digs, while Jessica Marion provided seven kills. Michelle Brown had 23 assists and 10 digs, while Shana Morgan and Sara Randall had three aces each for the Flyers.
SCC (5-6 overall, 1-1 conference) continues its season Saturday with a double conference match in Wytheville, Va., before returning home on Tuesday to take on Rockingham Community College at 6 p.m.
