Patriot Harriers Compete in Seahawk Invitational

The Pinecrest boys finished eighth and the Patriot girls came in ninth at Saturday’s Seahawk Invitational Cross Country Meet held in Wilmington.
First to cross the finish line for the Patriot boys in the 5K race won by Madden Snyder of Ardrey Kell (16:10) was Will Pearson (17:10) in 16th place. The other runners making up the Patriot team score were Becket Killam, 30th (17:26), Will Proulx, 42nd (17:38), Matt Harmody, 49th (17:41) and Javier Bustos, 90th (18:17). Cardinal Gibbons won the team title.
The winner of the girls’ race was Erica Amatori of Green Hope (18:33), the team champion. Jennie Cunningham, 37th place (20:28) led the Patriot girls followed by Katana Lemelin, 58th (21:14), Jaleigh Jensen, 61st (21:20), Sarah Klug, 75th (21:46) and Sarah Pressley, 81st (21:56).
The Patriots’ Graham Hawes finished fifth (18:13) in the junior varsity boys' race. Malloy Manning came in 12th for the Patriots in the girls’ jayvee competition.
