The Vikings volleyball team topped Southern Lee in straight sets Thursday in Sanford.

With the 25-14, 25-17 and 25-10 victory, Union Pines improved to 11-0 overall and 4-0 in Cape Fear Valley Conference play.

Morgan Bridgers led Union Pines with 28 assists and 10 aces. Fellow Viking senior captain Crystal Hicks had 10 kills.

Continuing her strong and steady contribution for Union Pines, junior outside hitter Brittany Erickson contributed seven kills and five aces to the Viking effort. Meanwhile sophomore middle hitter Tiffany Hick had eight blocks and seven kills.

Union Pines returns to the court Tuesday when the Vikings host league rival Western Harnett at 4:30 p.m. in Cameron.
