Longleaf Garden Club Presents Program

The members of the Longleaf Garden Club will present a program called "Home for the Holidays" Thursday, Oct. 13, at The Village Chapel in Pinehurst.

The doors open at 1 p.m. to preview five floral designs that will be available for raffle.

The program begins promptly at 1:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased at The Country Bookshop in Southern Pines.

Four National Council Master Judges and members of the Longleaf Garden Club - Cookie Kremer, Milli Johnson, Bonnie Mirmak and Lee Sherman - will each demonstrate a holiday theme of either autumn, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Eve.

"The program will be fun, informative and full of ideas," says a spokesman. "Attendees will no doubt come away with their own creative thoughts to stylize their own homes for any of the holidays."

After the program, light refreshments will be served.

Longleaf Garden Club is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Members decided to -present the program in this, its celebratory year.

The purpose of the -program is primarily to educate the public about the beauty of nature and design and to help support the club's affiliations and charitable works such as the Sandhills Community College Horticultural Society, hospice plantings, Tomorrow's Legacy and Weymouth Gardens.
