Rain Continues, Chance of Severe Weather, Flooding Remains

More bad weather is possible across Moore County tonight and into tomorrow.
The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a tornado watch for the county until 9 p.m. tonight and a flood watch is also in effect for the area until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Strong storms, including a possible tornado, hit the area early Tuesday. The storm knocked down dozens of trees in CCNC near Lake Dornoch Drive.
The chances for heavy rain are greatest late tonight, the NWS said. Flooding could occur in urban or poor drainage areas.
Heavy rains fell again Tuesday evening causes flooding and treacherous conditions on some local roadways.
Rain is expected to continue to fall through the night. Forecasts call for the rain to remain in the area through the end of the work week.
The storms and rain are the remnants of tropical storm Lee, which drenched parts of the Gulf Coast and the Southeast over the weekend.
