O'Neal Loses in Girls' Tennis

The O’Neal School girls’ tennis team lost a 9-0 match Tuesday to Westchester Country Day School in High Point.
In singles, Maggie Hakas lost to Katie Rice 6-0, 6-0. Greyson Keel lost a very tough match to Taylor Freeman 7-6 (6), 6-4, Ally Hoehn-Saric lost to Kristen McDowell 6-1, 6-2, Dana Averbook lost to Erica Sawyer 6-0, 6-0, Lacia Core lost to Olivia Greeson 6-1, 6-0 and Katherine McMurray lost to Alex Simpson 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, Rice and McDowell won over Hakas and Keel 8-4, Freeman and Sawyer defeated Hoehn-Saric and Averbook 8-1 and Olivia Simpson and Alex Greeson defeated Katie Salloum and Nicole Basile 8-0.
O’Neal finished the season 1-8, while Westchester improved to 11-2.
The Falcons are in Wilmington today and Saturday competing in the state 2-A girls’ tennis tournament for independent schools.
