Viking Girls Advance to Second Round of 3-A Duals Tennis Playoffs

Union Pines advanced to the second round of the state 3-A duals girls’ tennis tournament Tuesday with a 6-0 win over Ledford.
The Vikings took all six singles matches against the visitors, with No. 1 Melissa Tally picking up her 100th career win at Union Pines. She is the 27th girls’ tennis player to join the school’s Century Club. Her overall record is now 100-12 for her career.
There were no doubles contested as the Vikings had an insurmountable 6-0 lead.
The Vikings are now 17-0 for the season. They will face the winner of the Chapel Hill-Burlington Williams match next Tuesday.
