SP Police Make Arrest in Armed Robbery

A Pinehurst man faces multiple charges following an investigation by Southern Pines police into an a robbery and aggravated assault that happeed at 2:39 a.m. on Oct. 9 in downtown.

Jamar Fernandez Pickens, 21, of Pinehurst is charged with robbery with a firearm, possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule VI controlled substance, posession of drug paraphernalia and resist, delay, obstruct a public officer. He was arrested on Oct. 13 in the 800 blok of South Mechanic Street following a short pursuit.

Pickens is in the Moore County jail on a $100,000 secured bond pending a hearing Oct. 26 in Moore County District Court.
