A perfect fall day helped attract a huge crowd Saturday for the 33nd annual Holly Arts and Crafts Festival in downtown Pinehurst.

The festival featured nearly 200 artists and crafters, as well as many food vendors. Several local residents are participating in this year’s event.

No manufactured goods are sold, according to organizers. These are true artisans, who offer unique items.

Handcrafted birdhouses and handbags, candles and decorative garden displays have been among the more popular items. Jewelry, holiday decorations and clothing offer special gift alternatives for the Christmas season.

Several nonprofit groups were also on hand to tell about their organizations and raise money for their causes.

And complementing each crafter’s wares, the village shops remained open for shopping, dining and exploring.

The Holly Arts & Crafts Festival is presented by the Pinehurst Business Guild and sponsored by Our State magazine.
