Middle Creek defeated the Pinecrest volleyball team 25-27, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23 and 15-10 in a nonconference match in Apex Wednesday evening.

The Patriots were also on the road on Tuesday when they swept Richmond Senior 25-8, 25-14 and 25-16 in Southeastern Conference action. They took a 17-7 overall and 6-3 record in the SEC into today's senior night contest against Hoke County that completed the regular season.

Felicia Painter finished with 21 kills and six blocks in the tough loss to Middle Creek. Amber Goodwin was credited with 11 kills, and Callie Boone had five kills and 10 digs. Also for the Pats, Megan Thomas had 25 assists, eight digs and 11 service points, Keegan Lynch contributed 10 assists and eight digs, and Rae Nunez had eight digs.

Ashleigh Welton served for nine points in the one-sided win over the Raiders. Boone had eight service points, seven digs and six kills. Painter recorded 10 kills.
