It took a Moore County jury less than an hour Friday to convict a West End teenager on an armed robbery charge.

After closing arguments and instructions from Superior Court Judge Joseph E. Turner, jurors deliberated about 45 minutes before finding Caleb Josia Haire, 18, guilty of three counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to Moore County District Attorney Maureen Krueger.

Assistant District Attorney Warren McSweeney prosecuted the case for the state, Krueger said in a press release following the trial.

Haire was arrested in June 2010 by the Southern Pines Police Department after an armed robbery was reported at the Days Inn on 805 SW Service Road in Southern Pines on May 15, 2009.

Turner sentenced Haire to serve 60 to 81 months in prison. There were three victims in the case, Krueger said.
