Hollyhocks Art Gallery will hold its annual holiday open house at the Gallery on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Every year at this time, the artists invite the public, their clients and friends to join them in a festive celebration at the gallery. Elliott's restaurant and wine shop will provide specially selected wines, and an assortment of holiday appetizers will be served.

"We always have a great turnout. We look upon it as a way to thank our many clients, friends and visitors who support us throughout the year," says owner Jane Casnellie. "I will be giving away a signed giclee print. Anyone who attends will be eligible to win. In addition, Mark Elliott, of Elliott's restaurant, located next to the gallery, will be offering a free appetizer with dinner to anyone who makes reservations for dinner following the open house."

Hollyhocks Art Gallery has been in business in Pinehurst for more than a decade and offers a wide variety of artwork by owner Jane Casnellie, and local artists Diane Kraudelt, Mary Frey, Jean Frost, Carol Rotter and Caroline Love, who is new to the gallery. In addition, Morgen Kilbourn exhibits a beautiful collection of equine sculpture.

"It's a great place to shop for a very special gift for the holidays or, for that matter, any time of the year," says Casnellie. "Commissions are very popular as gifts, and all the artists at the gallery accept them. Pet portraits are the most requested. We look forward to welcoming our guests and having an opportunity to visit with them over a glass of wine in a very festive setting."

Hollyhocks Art Gallery is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is located at 905 Linden Road in Pinehurst.
