The Rooster's Wife presents the perfect antidote to leftovers and dirty dishes: live music among friends.
Rod Picott will bring his "Welding Burns" CD Release Tour to The Rooster's Wife House Concert Series in Aberdeen Saturday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 pm. Local singer songwriter Tim Wilson will open the show.
The doors open at 6:30 with admission $12 at the door for the 7:30 show.
A former construction worker born and raised in Maine, traveling troubadour Rod Picott sings songs filled with the gritty characters and revelatory details of a life spent at the margins of the American dream.
Rod Picott has released five albums since 2001 to stellar reviews both stateside and overseas. He has co-written with Slaid Cleaves for the last several years, including "Tiger Tom Dixon's Blues," chosen for the Brian Koppelman film "Solitary Man" starring Michael Douglas, Susan Sarandon and Danny Devito.
The Rooster's Wife is a nonprofit community arts organization committed to bringing the best in live music to the Sandhills. Home base is the gallery room of Poplar Knight Spot, 114 Knight St. in downtown Aberdeen. Picnics are welcome.
