Do you ever feel dizzy or unsteady when making sudden changes in movement? Do you lose your balance when doing simple tasks such as bending down or turning too quickly?

If so, you may have a balance disorder. In 2010, approximately 5 to 8 million people saw their physicians for balancing problems. Not being able to balance is typically associated with inner ear infections, brain injury or blood circulation disorders.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, B.J. Chockley, director of rehabilitation services, will present a free seminar, titled "Balancing Act," at 6:30 p.m. at Randolph Hospital. This seminar will focus on common risk factors for falling and ways to improve your balance.

This event is one of Randolph Hospital's community education events that is offered throughout the year on a variety of health-related topics. For more information or to register, call (336) 633-7788 or register online at www. randolphhospital.org and select the "Events" tab.
