Nonprofits Selling Tickets for Belk Charity Day

Belk in Southern Pines recently held a Charity Day kickoff breakfast at "The Lunch Box That Rocks," where local nonprofit organizations attended to learn more about the April 16 sale.

The participating organizations are now selling tickets for $5 each, which entitles purchasers to attend a private four-hour sale from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., featuring 20 percent to 70 percent off rarely discounted brands storewide.

The entire $5 from every ticket goes to the participating charity, and ticket holders receive the $5 back on their first store purchase. The first 100 customers to arrive at the sale will receive a Belk gift card valued between $5 and $1,000.

Ticket holders who are unable to attend the April 16 event and hold a Belk card can still take advantage by preselling merchandise from April 10-15.

Participating organizations are American Association of University Women, Bethany House, Boy Scout Troop 582, The Arc of Moore County, Sandhills Children's Center, Girl Scout Troop 1199, Sandhills Woman's Exchange, Animal Advocates of Moore County, Back Pak Pals, Communities in Schools, Compassionate Friends of the Sandhills, Daughters of the British Empire, Friends of Moore GAL, Kennedy Disable Sports,;

Marine Corps League, Pinecrest Forensics Boosters, Sandhills Alumnae Chapter of Lee and Moore Counties Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Mira Foundation, Ms. Senior America, Union Pines High School Navy Junior ROTC, VFW Post 7318 Ladies Auxiliary, Women of Seven Lakes, Woodlake Women's Club, Zoopendous Show Chorus, Moore Humane Society and West End Elementary PTA.

Many of these groups will be selling tickets at the Belk store through April 16. Anyone needing more information can call (910) 215-9353.

We are so happy to be a part of this wonderful event! Moore Humane Society tickets can be bought at First Casualty Insurance Group, located at 190 Turner Street in Southern Pines, across the street from the Goodwill Store and up the road from Wal-Mart. Thanks!
