The Vass Lions Club is sponsoring its fourth annual pancake breakfast at Vass Lakeview Elementary school from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26. It will be an all-you-can-eat breakfast that will include pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Tickets are $6 per person and will be available at the door or may be purchased from members of the Vass Lions Club. In addition there will be crafts, courtesy of the Woodlake Craft Club, and baked goods will be for sale that morning.

Proceeds will go to support community projects including assistance in purchasing eyeglasses for the visually impaired, eye exams, and distribution of food boxes to at least 200 needy families on Dec. 24. The Vass Lions Club also provides donations to local organizations such as the Vass Rescue Squad, the Vass Public Library, Union Pines High School for scholarships for deserving students and Crains Creek Middle School’s Peace Poster Contest.

Approximately one-fourth of the club’s budget is earmarked for the North Carolina’s Lions Foundation, which supports an eye bank for accident victims, an eye research center, an eye clinic and a special camp for the blind on Lake Norman.
