The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra will perform the familiar and peaceful "Symphony No. 6 in F Major" by Ludwig van Beethoven, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Reeves Auditorium at Methodist University in Fayetteville.
This work, which reflects Beethoven's love of nature, is one of his most popular and most performed symphonies.
After intermission the FSO will welcome pianist Shai Wosner back to Fayetteville as he presents a performance of the beloved and most well known of all the piano concertos, "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B Flat Major" by Peter Iilych Tchaikovsky.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors/military and $8 for students. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
"Buy one ticket, and a second person attends free," says a spokesman.
At 6:45 p.m interested concert-goers are invited to enter the auditorium in order to better "Know-the-Score." A discussion of the evening's program will be led by the orchestra's music director and conductor, Fouad Fakhouri, and guest soloist Shai Wosner as well as select members of the FSO.
Tickets are on sale at the symphony office at (910) 433-4690, online at fayettevillesymphony.org, or in the lobby on the night of the concert.
