The board of directors of the Moore County Community Foundation (MCCF) announces the establishment of an endowment and a contribution to the community fund. Both are designed to help support local needs, according to Hugh Bingham, chairman

The MCCF, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF), supports community needs throughout Moore County through its local grants program, support of area nonprofits and planned giving services.

St. Joseph of the Pines established a charitable endowment in the late fall of 2010 to provide ongoing support of the MCCF’s community grant-making fund. St. Joseph of the Pines, a member of Catholic Health East, is a nonprofit devoted to senior living and health services.

Bingham notes that this is the first time the MCCF had received a gift from a grantee to support outreach projects.

“It’s a wonderful turnaround to receive a gift from one of our grant recipients, and we’re extremely grateful,” he says. “The St. Joseph of the Pines endowment will continue to grow for years and help support the many charitable needs in Moore County.”

The MCCF also received a gift from the Enroth Family Fund of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation to help strengthen its support of local needs. The contribution was made to the MCCF’s community grants program through a gift of a well-known and respected community leader, Penny Enroth.

“She has been supporting educational programs and projects that enhance and benefit the lives of both adults and children in Moore County,” says Bingham.

The MCCF has served Moore County for nearly 20 years, supporting such organizations as Coalition for Human Care, Moore Free Clinic, Guardian Ad Litem, Meals on Wheels and Moore County Arts Council, to name a few.
