The Sandhills Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. recently sponsored a fundraiser in conjunction with Applebees's Restaurant, in Aberdeen.

Delta Sigma Theta is well-known as a nonprofit community helper.

"Applebee's was happy to offer the opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the local Sandhills Chapter by allowing the resturant to host a Flapjack Fundraiser," says a spokesman.

The basic premise of a Flapjack Fundraiser event is to offer Applebee's restaurant facility during non-operating hours to help organizations to raise money by selling set plates of pancakes and sausage.

Proceeds will be added to the sorority's account for future community assistance.

This project was headed by chapter soror Poterressia Barnes.

The Applebee's in Sanford will also sponsor the Delta Sandhills Chapter on April 2. Contact any member for more information.
