Cuts Are for Everyone

President Bush said “read my lips” about not raising taxes when he was campaigning. Then the Democrats promised to cut spending if he did raise them, and he fell for it.

The Republicans did the same thing in December. President Obama snookered them into extending the unemployment benefits to three years in exchange for continuing the Bush tax cuts for everyone, including those who make over $250,000. Then he includes a tax hike for those making over $250,000 in his new budget.

He snookered the American people too. He has started sounding like someone who has heard the people say, “Stop spending and quit taking money from businesses that could be used to create jobs.” He has even been said to be moving to the middle. Then he includes huge new expenditures, which gives another $1.6 trillion deficit, in his budget.

When are we going to stop bargaining with liberals? They give an inch and take a mile every time. Then they take the inch back as soon as they are able.

They also like to misrepresent the facts (lie) in demonizing the right. They say that not raising the deficit ceiling would cause us to renege on our repayment of debt. That is no more true than saying we wouldn’t pay our mortgage if our income was reduced.

We would cut back somewhere, but our major creditors would be paid. They also will say that Republicans want to shut down the government and/or starve children and old people. Once again, there are better places to cut, which reasonable people would do.

The best place to cut is disallowing unions to lobby for spending more tax dollars for themselves, like the NEA and SEIU. When the people who pay the taxes are cutting back, the receivers need to also.
