Scott McCreery takes to the “American Idol” stage again tonight when the final 12 male singers perform solos.

McCreery, a 17-year-old high school student from Garner, is the grandson of Aberdeen residents Bill and Paquita McCreery. He has captivated Idol fans, along with judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson, with his deep bass vote and good-old-country boy mannerisms.

The show airs at 8 p.m., with the added bonus of the public weighing in on their favorite performers. For the first time this season, viewers get to vote. Votes can be cast on the internet, in addition to the usual telephone dialing and text message voting.

By the "please tell me you're kidding" part is because the blue box at the right of the article will tell you. Wasn't sure if you were being funny or just plainly didn't see it

Oh, I hope he does well tonight!! I love his voice, personally. Unfortunately, I don't know how diverse his voice can be and if he'll be able to pull off all of the genre's that they have to perform throughout the show, but I think even if he doesn't go all the way...he'll go far, if not thru American Idol, somewhere in the business. There just aren't enough singers that can go as low as him and still sound as great as he does! He is serving his family proud. I hope they are very proud of him.

He got my vote too! That voice is amazing.I hope he stays until the end.I could listen to him all night . It's too bad he won't be able to sing country throughout, but there's no doubt in my mind that his appearances on this show will take him places.Good luck Scotty!

He's a natural rapper, but if he has to sing country, well ok! Man he has a really smooth, deep voice. Nashville awaits, regardless of where he finishes.
