James Baldwin III completed a torrid first week of the season for the Ogden Raptors by going 3-for-5 in an 11-5 victory over the Casper Ghosts Saturday evening.

Batting in his familiar lead-off spot for the first time this season, the former Pinecrest star and current Raptor center fielder scored three times, knocked in a run and stole two bases. He has hit safely in all six games for the Utah based advanced Rookie League farm club of the Los Angeles Dodgers, now 3-3 on the season.

Baldwin provided the home fans with an eyeful the night before in a 14-7 loss to the Ghosts, homering twice. The blasts to right center in the third inning, and to center in the fourth, drove in a total of four runs.

The productive first two days of the weekend boosted Baldwin’s batting average to .440 (11-for-25). He has scored 10 runs, driven in 11 and stolen five bases.

The 2010 Pinecrest graduate was drafted in the fourth round of last year's MLB First-Year Player Draft and recently started his second season in the professional ranks.
