A Lakeview woman has died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident Friday near Vass, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Sharon Jones Bennett, 53, died Saturday at Moore Regional Hospital according to the highway patrol.

The wreck happened about 7:15 p.m. Friday near 211 McInnis Road, a few blocks from Bennett’s home. Bennett was driving a 2005 Jeep west when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road, hit a culvert, overturned and landed in a ditch, according to a report from the highway patrol.

The cause of the accident has not been determined. Bennett was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report. Neither speed or alcohol was a factor in the wreck, according to the report.

Bennett was transported by EMS to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
