NWS Issues Heat Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the local area.
The advisory will be in effect from 11 a.m. this morning until 9 p.m. this evening.
Temperatures are expected to be between 98 and 101, with heat index values from 105 to 109 degrees, according to the NWS.
Prolonged exposure or any strenuous activity may lead to heat-related illnesses that require immediate medical attention.
There is also the chance of strong to severe thunderstorms late this afternoon, according to the NWS. The largest danger from these storms are damaging downburst winds.
