Southern Pines Recreation and Parks Department is teaming up with N.C. State Parks and Weymouth Woods for a seminar on "Hummingbirds in the Sandhills" Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at Weymouth Woods.

"Join us for an informative expose on ruby-throated hummingbirds in the Sandhills, bird banding, and a show-and-tell of nests, ant moats, and yellow jacket traps," says a spokesman. "A question-and-answer session will follow."

All ages are welcome at this free event.

"Bring your camera to capture great photo opportunities," says a spokesman.
