Fire destroyed the home of a Pinebluff volunteer firefighter and his family Thursday, according to fire officials.
The Pinebluff Fire Department was dispatched at 10:36 a.m. Thursday to a home at 2776 Roseland Road, according to Chief John McKiver.
"When we got there it was somewhat fully involved," McKiver said. "It (fire) was coming through the roof."
Johnnie Lynch and his family lived in the single-story home, which was deemed a total loss, he said.
The family was not home at the time of the fire.
McKiver said the fire appeared to have started in a children's playroom in the rear of the home.
The Moore County fire marshal's office is investigating the fire.
Firefighters from Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Seven Lakes and Crestline also responded, along with Moore County EMS and the Moore County Sheriff's Office.
