Three Break-In Suspects Arrested After Foot Chase

Southern Pines police responding to an alleged break-in Friday morning arrested three men after a short chase on foot.
The police responded at approximately 8:42 a.m. to the 700 block of South Stephens St., and apprehended the men while also recovering stolen property, according to a press release.
Thomas Kelly McCain Jr., 18, of Raeford, Junior Murchison, 18, of Southern Pines and a juvenile were all three charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and damage to real property. Murchinson was also charged with resist, delay and obstructing officers and second-degree trespass, while the juvenile was also charged with resist, delay and obstructing officers.
All three were jailed, with bail set at $20,000.

I'm pretty sure I saw this. I was driving down Morganton Rd around 9AM the other morning, and just before the armory, I saw a dude sprinting across the road. A couple seconds later a uniformed officer ran across as well, and I saw him chasing the guy down Fire Lane. There was also a third man, who tried to casually walk away, then broke into a run going off into the woods.
I can attest, by the way, that both of them had to hold their pants up in order to run. No lie.
