Kinston Man Faces Prescription Pill Fraud Charges

A Kinston man was arrested Tuesday on charges of obtaining controlled prescription pills by fraud.

Kenneth Bryan Hardy, 50, of the 100 block of Jessie T Bryant Road, Kinston, has been charged with three counts of felony obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, according to a press release.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation by officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit involving obtaining amphetamine salts by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, according to the release.

Hardy was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

I find it odd that everytime someone is arrested on such charges they are in the paper, however when a former police officer was arrested on these same types of charges it was ignored as if it never happened.
