A Carthage woman was arrested Wednesday and faces several obtaining prescription pills by fraud charges.

Teresa Gail Cummings, 31, of 508 T Johnson Road, Carthage, was charged with four counts of felony obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, according to a press release.

The arrest came after an investigation conducted by officers from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit concerning an individual obtaining hydrocodone by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, according to the release. Hydrocodone is a Schedule III controlled substance.

Cummings was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
