Both the O’Neal girls’ and boys’ varsity basketball teams lost to Arendell-Parrott Academy last Thursday.

The girls fell 43-8. A strong first half by Parrott put them up 27-8 at the half. The Lady Falcons were blanked 16-0 in the second half.

Four players saw the scoring column for O’Neal — Alessandra Tozzi, Maura Thornton, Mary Winston-Dozier and Claire Russell. Heather West lead Parrott with 11.

Parrott built a 17-point lead against the boys and held off a furious fourth quarter rally by the Falcons to win 60-55.

Jacob Talbert and Charlie Johnson each had 16 points for O’Neal. Stephen Chamberlain added 11 and Logan Butler had six.

O’Neal was scheduled to travel to Faith Christian Tuesday.
