Two Charged With Stealing Wire, Scrap Metal

Two men have been charged in connection with a break-in and larceny from N.G. Purvis Farms near Robbins.

The incident happened Jan. 28 when employees with the business observed the two men inside the business attempting to steal wire and scrap metal. The employees called the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and deputies and detectives arrived on the scene and arrested one suspect, according to a press release. The other suspect fled in a vehicle, according to the release.

John Henry Burch, 62, of 642 Tucker Street, Asheboro, was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of burglary tools, breaking, entering and larceny and possession of stolen goods, according to the release. He was jailed, with bail set at $60,000.

On Feb. 10, Sheriff’s investigators arrested Robert Anthony Chisholm,48, of 199 Dan Road, Robbins. He was arrested in Randolph County and charged with breaking, entering and larceny, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property, according to the release. He was jailed, with bail set at $5,000.
