Vass Men Charged in Break-Ins

Two Vass men faces several charges for allegedly breaking into the same house twice over a two-month period.
Walter Luther Mills, 28, 736 Pats Road, was arrested Feb. 9 by Moore County Sheriff’s Office investigators, while Steven Lee Lawson, 30, 840 Bird Road, was arrested Thursday by investigators, according to a press release.
The arrests stemmed from a Dec. 9, 2010 breaking and entering and larceny report from a man who lives in the Vass area. The same man reported another break-in on Jan. 10, according to the press release.
Both Mills and Lawson have been charged with two counts of breaking and entering, three counts of felony larceny and three counts of possession stolen property, according to the release. Mills was jailed, with bail set at $2,000, while Lawson’s bail was set at $10,000, according to the press release.
