Moore County Man Gets Seven Years in Federal Pen
A Moore County man was recently sentenced to seven years in federal prison on charges of distributing crack cocaine and possession of a firearm in the futherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Antwan Mattes Williams was indicted in United States District Court in Greensboro and was sentenced in December 2010, according to a press release.
Williams was arrested after a drug investigation conduced by the Moore County Sheriff’s Office narcotics unit in October 2009. During the undercover investigation, officers purchased and seized approximately 14 grams of crack cocaine, one gram of powder cocaine and a .45 caliber handgun, according to the release. It was later determined that the handgun had been stolen from Cumberland County, according to the release.
Williams will be placed on supervised probation for a term of six years upon his release from prison.
