Whispering Pines: The Men’s Golf Association played on Feb. 16 in a two best balls of the foursome contest on Course No. 5. Pinehurst: The Men’s Golf Association played on Feb. 8 with one best ball needed on par 3s and par 5s holes in a Nassau tournament. On Feb. 9 the Men’s Golf Association played a two best ball net Nassau tournament on Course No. 1. Front nine: Wayne Pensenstadler, Ray Rosinski, Joe Koontz, John Gerney, 58; Harry Herman, Tom Knorr, Jack Laflin, dick Haefele, 59. Back nine: John Brewster, Robert Hoffman, Bob McNally, Gale Smith, 63 (MOC); Jim Cassidy, John Arnold, Chris Stevenson, 63 (MOC).
The Silver Foils played on Feb. 15 in a president versus vice president tournament. The president’s team won with 146.5 points to the vice president’s team of 105.5 points. Playing for the president’s team were: Jean Sundstrom, Diane McCall, Cindy Motter, Solita Hawes, Ro Kachel, Kathy Mondock, Eleanora Voelkel, Dee Bilodeau, Judy Lewis, Mary Ann Mills, Dian McCarthy, Vera Gabriel and Dorothy Zihal
The Scramblers played on Feb. 7 in a two best ball game on Course No. 4. The winning teams were: Marty Doherty, Lou Mongelluzzo, Bob Nielson, Bill Sherman, 127; Donald Auch, Lowell Corbin, Art Lindon, Jerry Raugh, 132; Bob Fazio, Bob Campbell, Tom Holderby, Luther Hutchinson, 135 (MOC); Rich Caswell, Charles Bradbury, Sam Shirey, Greg Maushart, 135. Luther Hutchinson won closest to the pin on hole No. 4.
The Birdies played on Feb. 14 on Course No. 6 in a “Love ’Em” game. For scoring, two best balls were needed on par 3 holes on the front nine and three holes on the back nine, and one best ball on all other holes, with 90 percent of each player’s handicap used for scoring.

Beacon Ridge: The 18-Hole Women played a team game on Feb. 15 with all three scores counting on every hole. The winners: Sandra McDermott, Mary Snead and Linda DeBrine, 111; LaVonne Hurd, Mary McMahon and a Blind Draw, 113. Joyce Loney won closest to the pin on No. 7.
Midland: The Men’s Golf Association played on Feb. 16 in a Nassau tournament with two best balls of the foursome needed for scoring. Overall winners were Jim Braunscheidel, Joel Rabdau, Wade Vollmer and Lee Hancock, 127. Jim Braunscheidel won low gross with 81. Derrick North won low net with 34.
A 9-hole skins game was played with Derrick North winning on holes No. 3 and No. 8, Don Palmer on No. 6 and Bill Crenson on No. 7.
Whispering Woods: The Men’s Golf Association played on Feb. 11 with team scores counting on even holes on the front nine and odd holes on the back nine. Ken Pomeroy, Fred Miller, Bud Henty, Tony Rodriquez, 118.
On Feb 14 it was a team event with one low net on the first six holes, two on the next five holes and three on the last six holes (17 holes total). Bill Bartlett, Rich Moran, Toney Rodriquez, Phil Scalia, 114.
On Feb 16 the game was a team event with the “yellow” ball plus one low net ball needed for scoring. The yellow ball must complete the round. Rich Moran, Tom Lyon, Bud Henty and Bill Woodruff won with 134.
Seven Lakes: On Feb 15 the Women’s Golf Association finished a match play tournament, and the winners in each match were: Peggy Ballew, Marge Blake, Joyce Charles, Marti Elliott, Kathy Goodman, Roni Hann, Ione Katz, Betty Larson, Donna McClung, Marilyn Quintana and Linda Stromenger.
