Former Pinecrest baseball star Seth Maness is slated to be the starting pitcher for East Carolina in tonight’s season opener at home against Youngstown State.

The senior right-hander has 28 career wins. Among his impressive stats are 254 strikeouts compared to only 54 walks. He has not allowed a run in 251.2 of the 306.2 innings he has pitched for the Pirates.

A three-time All-Conference USA pick, Maness has been named to three pre-season All-American teams.
