I guess we are to assume that handicapped placards are given out for reasons other than physical handicaps, since there are so many cars being driven with them hanging from the rear-view mirror when the placard clearly states, “Remove from rear-view mirror when vehicle is in motion.”

Language arts teacher Lisa Elliott had her head shaved by hairstylist Nichole Jenkins during an after-school event at Crains Creek Middle School May 3. Elliott promised students she would shave her head if they helped her raise money to participate in the Disney Half Marathon, which raises funds for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Students and the school community held Elliott to her promise and helped her raise more than $4,000. Enlarge

It seems too bad, Ms. Morris, that you are preoccupied with and disturbed by handicap tags hanging on rear-view mirrors. You should be keeping your eyes on the road, not other drivers' rear-view mirrors. BTW NC Temporary Handicap tags DO NOT say anything about removing when driving. You must have too much idle time to let such a thing bother you
