An Aberdeen man arrested Wednesday faces charges related to a January break-in and an additional charge of misdemeanor child abuse.
Mark Christopher Walker, 30, of 190 Quail Lane, Aberdeen, was charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, larceny by employee and misdemeanor child abuse, according to a press release.
The arrest stemmed from a report to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office of a breaking and entering and larceny at Calco Enterprise on Jan. 3. The child abuse charge was because of the condition of the home where Walker resided with his three children when Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Walker, according to the release.
Walker was jailed, with bail set at $35,000.

The child abuse charge is interesting. I'm not saying that I disagree with it, the living conditions is what brought it on if I am understanding the article correctly. If that is the case, why isn't every convicted drug charge accompanied with child abuse charges if there is a child in the house?

Perhaps he needed assistance from Social Services to keep a roof over his childrens heads. The article leaves to much for speculation about the living conditions. I wonder where their mother was and if she has or had a job paying enough to meet the bills every month? Who knows...but I don't think the man should be condemed until all the information is out there. Just seems like another family who has fallen on hard times. I wonder if this man has a prior criminal history of B&E?
