The O'Neal basketball teams both lost to Cape Fear Academy in a pair of road games Tuesday.
In the girls' game, Cape Fear's decisive second quarter — in which they outscored O'Neal 23-4 — propelled it to 43-16 victory.
Mary Winston Dozier and Claire Russell each led O'Neal with four points.
The girls fell to 1-18 (0-7 CFIC) on the year.
The O'Neal boys lost 63-38.
Cape Fear used a quick start to build an early lead. 6-10 center David Hill led the Hurricanes with 22 points. Zeke Sigler also scored 12 for Cape Fear.
Jacob Talbert led O'Neal with 20 points.
O'Neal dropped to 6-12 (2-5 CFIC) on the season.
Both teams will travel to Fayetteville Christian Friday.
