Aberdeen police made a surprising discovery when they attempted to serve an arrest warrant Monday.

Police didn't find the man they were looking for, but did find a 19-year-old Pinebluff man and arrested him on multiple drug charges.

Curtis Daquan Lowe, 19, of 208 Ironwood Road, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver crack cocaine, felony possession of crack cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana and a weapons violation, according to Aberdeen police.

Officers found Lowe at a hotel room at the Country Hearth Inn on Monday, said Jim Foster, Aberdeen deputy police chief.

Officers knocked on the room door and it was opened by a female, Foster said. Officers saw a man on a bed and noticed marijuana on the table and floor of the room.

The man provided officers identification and agreed to let officers search a pair of pants also on the bed, Foster said.

In the pockets officers found marijuana and $1,500 cash.

"They also saw a tote bag on the floor and asked if they could search that and he said no," Foster said,

Officers obtained a search warrant and found crack cocaine and a handgun in the bag, he said.

The female in the room was not charged.

Lowe was taken to Moore County Jail where he is being held on $10,000 bond.
