Announces Business Breaking, Entering and Larceny Investigations

On December 21, 2011 the Southern Pines Police Department received a report of two businesses being broken into in the Bradford Village Court area just off of South Bennett Street. Police say the break-ins appeared to have happened overnight.

The businesses appeared to have been broken into during overnight hours.Any person with information is asked to call the SPPD Crime Tip-Line at (910) 693-4110 or the Investigation Division at (910) 693-1481.

Police are also reminding residents to be careful this holiday season and to report any suspicious activity to your local police department.

  • Leave light(s) on and stereo/television playing in the background

  • Consider motion-activated lights and/or an alarm system

  • Have your mail picked up by a neighbor or a stop delivery if out of town

  • Never leave money in the register, in drawers or in open view

  • Leave register drawer(s) open

  • Make frequent deposits using the buddy system or asking for an escort

  • Be cognizant of your surroundings and anything that looks out of place
