Whispers, the philanthropic women's organization of Whispering Pines, had its November luncheon and annual card and game party on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Country Club of Whispering Pines.
Loretta Aldridge, of the Sunrise Preservation Board, was a welcome guest, giving an enthusiastic presentation of all the many offerings at the Sunrise Theater.
Sharon Mathias, club president, presided over the unusual dual presentation of the Martha Hardee Award.
This year, this prestigious award was given to Nancy Kendrick and also, posthumously, to Marge Tovey. George Tovey was present to accept for his wife. Sharon listed the many good works done by these two admirable women, who exemplify the selfless work for the community done by the founder of Whispers, Martha Hardee.
This month's chair was Joan Bruno. She was assisted by her committee members, Judith Sams, Carol Rossi and Frances Yoder.
