They Thanked All Vets

On Saturday, Dec. 3, I chanced to eat my breakfast at Mac’s Breakfast Anytime.
Midway through my meal, a very polite young gentleman tapped me on the shoulder and asked me if he might have the privilege of paying for my food.
I was quite surprised and asked him why he wanted to do this. He pointed to the hat that I had placed on the chair next to me and said, “I see that you are a veteran of World War II, and this is my way of saying thank you.”
This young man was accompanied by another equally polite young man and two young ladies. I am very sorry that I did not introduce myself properly, so I have no way of knowing their names.
I thought perhaps you might publish this letter so they will know how very grateful I am, not for paying for my breakfast, but for thanking one veteran, thereby thanking all the veterans who unselfishly served the country they love.
God bless America.
