The Pinecrest volleyball team was knocked from the undefeated ranks by a 25-21, 9-25, 25-21 and 25-20 loss at Overhills Tuesday evening.

The Patriots dropped to 7-1 as the Jaguars avenged a defeat at James Moore Gym last week. They are idle until next Wednesday when they meet Lee County in Sanford.

Felicia Painter recorded 23 kills and five blocks for the Pats. Megan Thomas contributed 25 assists and seven digs.

Other statistical leaders for Coach Barbara Foxx’s squad were Amber Goodwin with 10 kills, Ashleigh Welton with eight digs and Rae Nunez with 12 digs.

The Patriots had lost only one set in the previous seven matches.
