Dog Is Safe and Sound

Chloe is our rat terrier. On July 30 she was riding with our son in his truck when he lost control and overturned on U.S. 15-501.

Spooked and possibly injured, Chloe ran into the woods and apparently kept running. Fortunately, our son was not seriously injured. The next day my wife and sons canvassed the area knocking on doors, posting and placing fliers at stores, animal shelters and in mailboxes.

I am happy to report that early Monday afternoon we got a call that a dog fitting her description was running around but avoiding capture at Little River Golf Club. They were able to entice her inside with a bowl of water. I am happy to report that it was our dog. She was uninjured and is back to normal catching lizards, fetching sticks and digging holes.

We appreciate all who were involved in her return, especially the staff at Little River.

It's a good thing they got to her before Animal Control did.

This is a very nice story with a happy ending. It shows that we do have people in the community that do the right thing in helping dogs, especially lost dogs.
