The county was blanked tonight in high school football, with all three local schools dropping their home, and season, openers.

Jack Britt stopped Pinecrest 28-14, while Union Pines lost to Southwestern Randolph 34-14.

Over in Robbins, Union Academy defeated North Moore 50-0.

In the Patriots' game, Jack Britt took a 14-7 halftime lead on the way to the win in the nonconference clash.

At Woodrow Wilhoit Stadium, the Vikings and the visiting SW Randolph team were tied at 7-all after the first half of play.

The Mustangs spotted the visiting Cardinals a 41-0 lead early in the second quarter, and never threatened in the nonconference contest.
