Pair Face Drug Charges

A Southern Pines man and a Aberdeen woman face drug charges after their arrest in an undercover drug investigation Monday, according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Office.
Rakeen Jamell McLaughlin, 20 is charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was placed in the Moore County jail under a $7,500 secured bond.
Veda Lesha Taylor, 39, of Aberdeen, N.C, was charged with Conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana
She was released from the Moore County Detention Center under a $5000 unsecured bond.
The arrests stem from an undercover drug investigation conducted at Pine Crest Plaza in Southern Pines by officers of the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.
Detectives seized 112 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $1,100 during the investigation.
