Jackson Springs Woman Charged With Obtaining Pills by Fraud

A Jackson Springs woman faces eight felonies after being arrested Thursday on charges of obtaining controlled prescription pills by fraud.

Meredith MacNichol Eltschlager, 49, of 1 North Shamrock Drive, has been charged with eight counts of felony obtaining controlled substance by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, according to a release.

Eltschlager was arrested after an investigation by officers from the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics unit into an individual obtaining hydrocodone (Schedule III controlled substance) and percocet (a Schedule II controlled substance) by misrepresentation to a healthcare provider, according to the release.

She was released on a $30,000 unsecured bond.
